I don’t know how she does it, but my content editor has the absolute best timing. No sooner do I whip book two into shape and churn out a synopsis for it (potentially the worst part of writing — condensing everything you love into two pages of straightforward explanation) than she drops a cheery note in my inbox with a line edit for book one.
That means Neighborly Affection: Playing the Game is one step closer to publication. (The dog is barking at all the happy dancing going on here.) A few minor changes, and it’ll go back into my editor’s hands. Soon it’ll be making its way to reviewers and readers while I chew my fingernails to nubs hoping Alice, Henry, and Jay will make plenty of friends.
